The producers of "Real Time at Riverside" get a special visit from Kristie VerMulm

Riverside Elementary got a special guest on Friday. Our very own, Kristie VerMulm visited with fifth-graders and shared her wisdom about the television industry.

Ms. Mead and Ms. Olson's fifth grade classes joined forces to produce a weekly TV program for their school. With the district's support, they had their first broadcast in October.

It's a student-run show called "Real Times at Riverside." The students were excited to show to Kristie their newest episode and get her opinion on how they can make their show better.

"I thought it was pretty cool cause she gave us some really great tips on how we can improve our broadcast show," said Dontiya Skelton from Ms. Olson's class. "And how we can make lighting better, how we can sound better and how we can act better."

Students said it was great to have a real broadcast journalist in their classroom.
