Bo Pelini has guided Nebraska to three conference title games.
1999 was the last time Nebraska won a conference title. The Huskers haven't been national championship contenders since 2001.
After the Bill Callahan era, many saw Bo Pelini as the guy to put Nebraska back on the map.
Under Pelini the Big Red have played in three conference championship games, most recently last season, but a league title has remained elusive.
There have been big wins. However, there's been plenty of tough losses under Pelini as well.
The 6th year head coach knows fans are clamoring for a title.
"The reality is, every football team in any given year can't win 12 games," Head Coach Bo Pelini said. "There's not enough wins out there for everybody. I think that the rational people understand that. The great fans that are out there in college football have an understanding that there is a bigger picture and that there is a process that goes into things."
Nebraska has also struggled in bowls as of late.
The Huskers will try to snap a 3-game losing streak against Georgia in the Gator Bowl on Jan. 1.
