Fire damages Storm Lake, IA apartment building

Officials say carelessly discarded smoking materials are possibly to blame for an apartment fire in Storm Lake, Iowa.
The fire broke out around 4:45 this morning at 117 East Railroad in the center of town.
Officials say thick, black smoke was coming from a bedroom in the second floor apartment.

All residents in the building got out safely.

Damage is estimated at eight thousand dollars.
