If you've got an old cell phone lying around, you can help troops stationed overseas call home for the holidays.

The Dakota County Veterans Service office in Dakota City, Nebraska has partnered with "Cell Phones for Soldiers" to collect used cell phones.

The phones are recycled and the money raised goes to buy prepaid international calling cards that are distributed to military members.

One old phone can provide up to two and a half hours of free talk time to troops.

Starting today, you can drop off your gently used cell phone at the vet's office at the Dakota County Courthouse at 1601 Broadway in Dakota City, Nebraska.
