Fans cheer on Iowa State on Monday.
Iowa State has a chance to open the season on an 11-game winning streak, which would be their best start in program history.
Standing in the 14th ranked Cyclones way of an 11-0 mark? Boise State, who they'll play Wednesday in the Diamond Head Classic championship game in Hawaii.
Iowa State cruised past George Mason and used a big second half to distance itself from Akron in the first two rounds of the tournament.
Despite being a holiday, many Cyclone fans have flocked to Hawaii.
The support is something the team doesn't take for granted.
"Can't say enough about the fans that are here. I think we have the best fan base in this place and that includes two teams that are playing a bowl game here with their fans" Fred Hoiberg said. "It what you become accustomed to, knowing your fans will travel."
The Cyclones and Broncos tip at 7:30 central time. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
