NEAR ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - The Sioux County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to 3931 Jackson Avenue north of Orange City, Iowa for a barn that was on fire at 2:52 p.m. on Christmas Day.

When the Orange City Fire Department arrived on scene they found the barn fully engulfed in fire.

Officials say the barn and it's contents are considered a total loss and the cause appears to be from a heat lamp inside the barn.

The building is owned by Peter Vander Zwaag, 78, of Orange City.

The Orange City Fire Department and Orange City Ambulance were assisted by the Sioux Center Fire Department, Alton Fire Department and the sheriff's office.
