Orange City, Iowa daycare provider pleaded not guilty to murder charge

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV)  An Orange City, Iowa daycare provider is back in court Thursday morning.  She's charged with the murder of a three year-old girl.

33 year-old Rochelle Sapp pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and child endangerment, resulting in death.

Authorities say test results confirmed the girl, Autumn Elgersma, died of blunt force trauma.

According to court documents, Sapp was taking care of Elgersma at her home.  Police say Sapp admitted that she threw the girl to the floor, after she refused to take her coat off.

Sapp's attorney's also requested to have her $250,000 bond reduced.  A judge however, denied that request.

KTIV's Kayah Gausman is in the courtroom and will have more coming up tonight on News Four.
