Gigi's Playhouse is an organization that helps those born with down syndrome have a place to learn and grow.
Gigi's Playhouse in Sioux City came along when co-founders Jennifer Koch and Ron Koch saw the need right here in Siouxland.
They traveled to the headquarters in Chicago, and soon after founded Sioux City's center.

Sioux City's is one of 16 centers nationwide, and has already been around for several years.

Recently the center in Sioux City expanded to offer even more to those born with the syndrome.

Ron Koch sat down with his son to tell us more about the organization.

He says Down Syndrome is the most commonly occurring chromosomal condition where an extra copy of the 21st chromosome is present.
