Students are climbing to high places this holiday break

It's the middle of holiday break for Siouxland schools; and, just like summer parents are looking for ways to keep their children active and occupied.

There's a place right next to the Tyson Events Center that can do just that. It's open gym at the Long Lines Family Recreation Center in Sioux City and parents are taking advantage of what the local Rec Center has to offer. Not only is there a full court arena to play multiple games of basketball and soccer at once, but there's also a climbing wall.

So, what would these kids be doing this break if they weren't playing at the Rec Center?

"Probably be playing my PS3," said Derek.

"I'd be at my Grandpa and Grandma's house just hanging out," said Kyle.

"Grandma's," said Lexie.

"Probably be going shopping," said Jace.

"Playing with my dolls and watching TV," said Brooklyn.

For students in the Sioux City school district, classes will resume on January 2nd.
