Cold temps burst water pipe in downtown Sioux City

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -  Monday's cold weather gets the blame for a water main break in downtown Sioux City.

The break caused the sidewalk at 825 Pierce Street to crack open, spilling water onto Pierce and 8th Streets. It happened about 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.  Crews responded to help clean up debris.

City officials say the pipe fed water into the Century Link building, meaning they'll be responsible for some of the clean up.
