Police say Sioux City man beat another man with a table leg

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV)  A Sioux City man faces charges after, police say, he beat another man with the leg of a table.

53 year-old Loren German is charged with willful injury.  On Saturday, court documents say German told police he hit the victim several times for knocking on a neighbor's apartment door.  It happened around 6:30 a.m. at 909 Jackson Street.

The victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center.  Authorities say he had a gash on his forehead, and a broken left arm that will need surgery to fix.

German will be back in court next month.
