Former Monona Co. Auditor changes plea on drug charge

ONAWA, Iowa (KTIV)  A former Monona County, Iowa auditor has pleaded guilty to a drug charge.  As part of a plea agreement, Brooke Kuhlmann has agreed to change her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

She has been ordered to spend two days in jail.

Authorities say she bought the drugs from an undercover state trooper.

Monona County Attorney Michael Jensen says Kuhlmann has returned all county property in her possession.  She has also written a check for about eight thousand dollars for personal expenses she charged on a county credit card.

Earlier this month Kuhlmann resigned from office.  The County Board has appointed Marilyn Kelley as auditor.  Her appointment becomes official January ninth.  She will hold that position until the fall.
