Western Conference leading Omaha downed Sioux City 2-1 Tuesday night, snapping the Musketeers seven game winning streak.

Sioux City is now 0-8 all-time against the Lancers on New Year's Eve.

In a battle between two of the top netminders in the USHL, Sioux City's Kyle Hayton and Omaha's Cole Bruns combined to make 59 saves.

Hayton allowed two first period goals, while Burns just one.

Leading 1-0 the Lancers made it a 2-0 game when Jimmy Schuldt dove head first after a rebound and sent the puck off both posts and in.

Still down two with less than four minutes to play, Sam Saliba found the back of the net for the second time this season to make it a one goal game.

Neither goalie allowed a goal the rest of the night.

Sioux City returns to the ice Jan. 3, to face Muskegon.
