BC freshman football player dies in Idaho car accident

Briar cliff freshman defensive back Nicolas Bozorg-Omid was killed in a car crash on New Year's Eve. He was 19 years old.

According to the Idaho State Patrol, the Pocatello, Idaho, native was a passenger in a car driven by Andrew Lopez, 19, near Inkom, Idaho, which is near his hometown.

Lopez lost control of the car on an icy road, crossed a median, and into incoming traffic, striking a pickup truck.

21-year-old Jacob Arnold, who was also a passenger in the car, was also killed.

Lopez along with two others passengers were taken to a local hospital.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in Idaho, and at Briar Cliff University.
