Millions of Americans are waking up with new health care as a result of the Affordable Care Act

(NBC) - Millions of Americans are waking up Thursday morning with new health insurance. That means they can go to the doctor or pick up prescriptions without breaking the bank.

But it doesn't mean the troubled healthcare rollout is fixed.

The U.S. Supreme Court has weighed in, backing religious groups who say they shouldn't be forced to cover contraceptives. The White House insists they've dealt with that.

For the 2.1 million people who've signed up for health insurance under the new federal and state exchanges, January first is when the rubber meets the road.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sibelius called it "an exciting new day in health care" as latest enrollment figures were released Tuesday. But for millions of Americans, it's the first test of whether Obamacare will really work.
