Boykin chosen as chairman of Woodbury County Board of Supervisors


He's been on the Woodbury county board of supervisors since 1984, and George Boykin has been elected as chairman once again by his fellow board members.

Boykin said, he's held the chairman position at least four times in his 30 years on the board.

He described it as a prestigious position, that should be cherished by the person who gets it, and he said he does.

Boykin said, the biggest challenge for supervisors this year will be the budget.

Sioux City city council welcomes two new faces

The newly elected city council members took the oath of office.

Dan Moore and Pete Groetken were sworn in as the new members of the city council.

Incumbent Keith Radig also took the oath for a second term.

They were the top three vote-getters in the November election.

Radig, was also sworn in as the mayor pro- term for this year.

Rhonda Capron will take over the position in 2015.
