SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Sioux City Police continue to investigate a shooting near downtown that sent one man to the hospital.

Police say gunshots rang out at 4:15  Friday afternoon near Court and Oak.

When officers arrived they found one man with two gunshot wounds on the front lawn.

Paramedics rushed the man identified tonight as 32-year-old Nate McCauley of Sioux City.

Police say McCauley was taken to Mercy Medical Center. His condition is still unknown.

Detectives say McCauley was having a dispute with another man who shot him.

Authorities are still looking for two suspects.

KTIV spoke with a neighbor who says this area use to have problems but this is the first major crime to happen in a long time.

"When I  first moved in, it was kind of a rough neighborhood, but it's gotten a lot better in the last few years. We've gotten a lot of nice families in the neighborhood, a lot of good kids, good people," said Natera Munson, of Sioux City, IA.

As far as the home where the shooting occurred, Natera Munson says they have been quiet, good neighbors.

"It's been fine. Usually, they're quite quiet. One time I heard yelling, but I don't know if it was in playful banter," Munson said.

Several people were taken from the scene by the police department for questioning.
