Hy-Vee is educating customers on healthier eating habits for the new year


It's the start of a new year and new resolutions; and, Siouxland grocery store is doing its part to encourage healthier eating habits in the new year.

Dietitians and pharmacists were on-hand at the Hamilton Hy-Vee today answering health-related questions and promote healthy options available in every department.

"Honestly anything can fit into a healthy diet it's just choosing things in moderation and choosing wide variety of foods," said Hy-Vee dietitian Korie Lown.

Lown says it can be difficult to find fresh produce this time of year. She suggests hitting up the frozen foods section for unsweetened fruits and veggies.

"That's a good way to still get the same nutrition that's in fresh produce," said Lown.

Starting on Monday, the Hy-Vee wellness bus will be in Siouxland performing nutrition checkups on anyone who's interested. Below is a list of the dates, times and locations for the Hy-Vee wellness bus:
