Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg has led the Cyclones to the best start in school history.
There are just six unbeaten men's teams in Division 1 basketball and Iowa State is one of them. The 13-0 Cyclones are off to the best start in school history and will be tested on Tuesday when 7th-ranked Baylor comes to Hilton Coliseum.
The Bears are 12-1 and will be playing in their Big 12 opener, while the Cyclones won their league opener at Texas Tech on Saturday. The Cyclones are 11-0 all-time against Baylor at Hilton.
Iowa State moved up to number-9 in the new AP poll on Monday. This will be the first time in almost 13 years that ISU has played in a match up of top ten teams but their tough early-season schedule has gotten them ready.
"Every time we take the floor it's a big game," said Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg. "We're not going to put more emphasis or importance on one game or the next. You've got to take care of your home court. In this league, we got a big win on the road that gives you a plus one when we're looking at it. If you take care of your home court, at the end of the year you're going to be fine."
ISU and Baylor play at six o'clock Tuesday on ESPN 2.
