SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV)- A group of people in Sioux City were working in downright balmy conditions Monday.
Davenport Cleaner employees working in the back room were drdry cleaninglothes in their t-shirts on the dangerously cold day. The room was 78 degrees, and even humid. The boiler, steamers, machines, and pressers kept all of the workers very warm.
They even had the fans running to make sure it didn't get too hot, and the front windows were frosted over with all of the warm steam. "Our humidity's up, it's not real dry, it's nice and warm. In fact, the fans are still running. I don't think the air conditioning compressors will run, but we still have to cool it off a little bit, just to keep it perfect," Mark Davenport, Co-Owner of Davenport Cleaners said.
Mark Davenport said that they're lucky to have their ventilation system. Even a few years back, they used to be sweltering in the summer.
