New gas station/restaurant combo along Sioux Center's Highway 75 makes progress

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV)- A new gas station restaurant is hoping to draw some of the traffic from Sioux Center's busy center.

Co-op Gas and Oil is building a new structure on Highway 75.

The General Manager says he's optimistic the project will be a perfect place for truckers to stop, making the downtown area a little safer for pedestrians and smaller cars.

"The most important thing is to clear up the truck traffic that we have downtown, because it is getting pretty congested. That's what drove this project all along, to clear up the traffic that's in that downtown area. We're guessing that 90 percent of those will want to use the other site," Jim Harskamp, General Manager of Co-Op Gas and Oil said.

Co-Op Gas and Oil will announce the restaurant that will move in to the gas station later this January.
