Dakota City, NE Tyson workers negotiating new union contract

DAKOTA CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - Tyson workers in Dakota City, Nebraska negotiate a new union contract.  The United Food and Commercial Union heads have been in Dakota City for a few weeks.

A meeting will be held Saturday in South Sioux City, Nebraska, before a vote is conducted.  That meeting begins at 11 a.m. at the Marina Inn.

The current union contract doesn't expire until next month.

In October, workers at Cherokee's Tyson plant signed off on a four-year deal.

As part of the deal, maintenance and production crews will see increases in pay.
