SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Friday night, we got to take a rare look inside a temple here in Sioux City.

Abu Bekr Shrine opened their doors to the media to spread the word on their fraternity organization.

We were allowed to take our cameras in and be a part of their installation ceremony.

The installation ceremony is held to appoint those who have been elected to serve this year.

Joe Petersen was elected the Potentate, which is their leader for the coming year.

"It's a great organization, I joined it about 10 years ago and I have met so many wonderful people along the way and people that over time I sure would have missed it if I wouldn't have joined.  And like I said, we do good things for the kids," said Joe Petersen, 2014 Potentate.

Along with helping children, the Shriners have 22 hospitals, they sponsor circuses, and do countless volunteer work.
