Missouri River Historical Development's Lawyer talks about subpoena

A few days ago, a judge ordered board member Dave Bernstein and a Missouri River Historical Development lawyer to turn over subpoenaed documents.

It was all part of the breach of contract suit filed by Penn National Gaming.

MRHD's lawyer, Curtis Beason, said these include e-mails relating to contracts.

He forwarded the emails to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.

Beason said MRHD hasn't done anything wrong.

"I think the order is something that's normal in the course of a proceeding like this and that our attorneys are reviewing the matter and are complying with the order as appropriate," Beason said.

Last week the Iowa Supreme Court has ordered a District Court judge to take another look at the order he issued on the license for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

In December, the judge ordered a stay for the gambling license for the Hard Rock Casino which was later put on hold by the Iowa Supreme Court.
