Sioux City man sentenced to 12 years for abusing 2 month-old child

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - A Sioux City man is sentenced to 12 years behind bars for physically abusing his two month old child.

As part of a plea agreement, Shane Zeitler pleaded guilty to two counts of child endangerment.

In September, court documents show he was caring for his child, alone, at 2201 Gibson Street in Sioux City.

Documents show the baby was crying and fussy.

As he was walking out of the room with the child, Zeitler told police he struck the child's head on the door frame.

The child was taken to a Sioux City hospital with several large skull fractures.
