NORFOLK, NE. (KTIV/US92) -

It's not every day that a major motion picture company hosts an Oscar nomination viewing party in Siouxland.  But Norfolk, Nebraska is beginning to get used to the Hollywood limelight after Alexander Payne chose to shoot his film "Nebraska" in several northeast Nebraska communities last winter.

Paramount pictures hosted a breakfast Thursday morning in Norfolk for local cast, crew and fans to watch the Academy Award Nominations, and "Nebraska" got six of them.

Courtney Klein with the Norfolk Film Commission discussed just how much of an impact the area has seen from the filming.

"It's amazing, it's been an amazing experience for all of us. The fact that we had a major motion picture filmed in northeast Nebraska in and of itself was unique, but to have a film of this caliber," she said.

"Nebraska" received nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor for Bruce Dern, June Squibb for Best Supporting Actress, Nebraska native Alexander Payne was nominated as Best Director, Yankton native Bob Nelson got the nod for Best Original Screenplay, and the film is nominated for Best Cinematography.
