This next video is out of Storm Lake, Iowa where you can see visibility was minimal as snow darkened the skies Thursday afternoon

The windy conditions created difficult driving conditions for most motorists around Siouxland but especially for truck drivers.

This semi was one of two that overturned along Highway 35 near Winside, Nebraska.

Officials with the Nebraska State Patrol say there were no serious injuries related to the accidents.

The Patrol says the conditions were too windy for wreckers to remove the trucks from the scene and that they would stay along the side of the road until conditions settle down.

Safety becomes a major concern when the weather starts causing whiteout conditions.

Another danger when the winds gusting at high speeds is downed power lines.

MidAmerican energy reports a handful of downed lines in the state.

Crews are on standby and ready to go out for repairs.

If you see a downed line call (800) 799-4443.
