Sioux City police were called to 1917 West 4th Street this afternoon, after a ten-year-old girl was hit by a compact SUV. Police say the girl walked out from in-between two parked cars and into traffic. The driver saw her and swerved, which witnesses say probably saved the child as she only hit the side mirror of the SUV. She was taken to Unity Point Health Saint Lukes Regional Medical Center as a precaution.
