Iowa State is 2-3 in Big 12 play.
AMES, Iowa (KTIV) -
That 14-0 start to the season by Iowa State is now a distance memory.
The 8th ranked Cyclones dropped their third straight game on Saturday in a 10-point loss to unranked Texas.
It's the first time since 2011, Iowa State has lost three straight game.
The Cyclone also struggled to hang onto the ball, turning it over a season high 18 times against the Longhorns.
Iowa State has the week off before hitting the court on Saturday to play Kansas State and they know they can't feel sorry for themselves.
"We didn't get it done. We can't hang our heads, we can't feel sorry for ourselves," Melvin Ejim said. "That's how those things escalate. We just have to go out, correct the mistakes we did and focus on the next game. This is a tough league and we know it. Just as easy as we lost these, we could easily win three straight."
The loss to Texas now drops Iowa State to sixth in the Big 12 standings with a 2-3 mark. Kansas State is 4-1 in league action.
