Sioux City gathers to start caucuses

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Even though this isn't an election year, precinct caucuses are still an important part of the political process.

Tuesday night, both political parties met to begin organizing their base of supporters.

At several sites in Sioux City, republicans gathered to vote on chair and precinct committee members.

Those selected will attend the county party conventions.

Woodbury County democrats all met at West Middle School to select their delegates.

Those chosen will also represent their precinct at conventions.

Sioux City Representative Chris Hall, and several other candidates, attended the caucus, as well.
