I-OSHA fines Sibley, IA business for 2013 accident

UNDATED (KTIV) - UNDATED (KTIV)-Iowa safety officials have cited a Sibley, Iowa, business following a flash explosion that sent five people to the hospital.

The accident happened back in July, when investigators say workers were switching over electric lines at the Timewell Drainage plant.

Among the citations, Current Electric faces four "serious" violations. Investigators for Iowa Occupational Safety and Health, or I-OSHA, fined Current Electric 6-thousand dollars because workers didn't wear appropriate personal protective equipment. They also say controls, or circuits, that were deactivated during the work weren't tagged.
