Cherokee, IA city council re-elects police chief

CHEROKEE, Iowa (KTIV) - CHEROKEE, Iowa (KTIV)- By a 3-to-2 vote, Cherokee, Iowa's, city council re-approved Steve Schuck as that city's police chief.

Last week, the council voted to not put Schuck back at his post. Since then, all parties discussed Schuck's management of the police department and came to an agreement. "I still stand behind our chief. I still stand behind our police department. Like I said, there were concerns, and we've addressed those, and we're going to move forward," said Mark Murphy, Cherokee Mayor.

Schuck has been on the force 32 years, and has spent the last 12 years as chief.
