Judge sanctions MRHD president in Penn Gaming breach of contract suit

A judge has admonished Mark Monson, the president of Missouri River Historical Development, for not being prepared for a December deposition in Penn National Gaming's breach of contract suit against the group.  The judge ordered MRHD to pay for part of Penn's expense in filing a motion to compel Monson to turn over the documents Penn requested.  The ruling also ordered MRHD to turn over 11 emails and letters which were not given to Penn.

County responds to complaints about construction trucks near CF expansion site

Officials with Woodbury County and CF Industries say they will work quickly to address concerns about road safety near the billion-dollar expansion project near Salix.  People who live near the site say cement and dump trucks have been barreling by dangerously ever since construction began last spring.  They say mailboxes have been hit and school buses have been forced to drop kids off in driveways instead of on the road.

Grant will help Le Mars, IA improve downtown buildings

Downtown Le Mars, Iowa will get a fresh, but historic new look.  The city is receiving a half-million dollars in federal funds to help several downtown businesses update the look of their buildings.  So far, 26 businesses have signed on for the grant money to help pay for exterior improvements.  The work is expected to start in late summer or early fall.

New housing development moving into downtown Sioux City

A new housing development is moving into downtown Sioux City.  Lofts will soon be a part of one of the most historical blocks downtown.  Located near the corner of Pierce and 6th Street, the Williges Building was designed by local architect William Steele in 1930.  The Williges Lofts are currently under construction, but already selling.   The seven loft units are scheduled to be finished in May.
