Siouxland Humane Society breaks record last year

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - It's been a tremendous year for animals at the Siouxland Humane Society.

Officials there say they broke all previous records by adopting ninety-four percent of the animals that came in.

In 2013 they adopted over 2000 animals.

"We are an open admission up shelter so that mean we do not refuse entry for any animals. Primary we get dogs and cats but we also get a wide selection of other small animals from snakes to rabbits to birds to rats, hamster, and gerbils" said, Jerry Dominicak, Executive Director of the Siouxland Humane Society

They hope to have a better year in 2014 and want many more to come and adopt a pet.
