A Woodbury County correctional officer, David Tripp, is no longer employed with the Sheriff's department.

Woodbury County Sheriff Dave Drew could not go into specifics on David Tripp's employment.

Tripp is facing charges of domestic abuse... after a disturbance with his wife.

Authorities say he fired a revolver in the air near her.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A court hearing is set for February.

Tripp is also a county supervisor.

Another supervisor, Larry Clausen, says Tripp will continue to serve on the board unless he decides to remove himself.
