Woodbury County correctional officer charged for operating while intoxicated

(KTIV) - A Woodbury County correctional officer will be back in court next month after he's charged with a Operating While Intoxicated.

On December 15, court documents show Josh Hedum crashed into a cable amplifier box, slide sideways, hit a boat, rolled and then collided with a tree... in Woodbury County.

Authorities say at the time Hedum had a very strong odor alcohol on his breath.

He wasn't charged until Thursday.

Woodbury County Sheriff Dave Drew says Hedum is on medical leave from the department.
