Okoboji Winter Games officials continue to monitor ice

ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa (KTIV) - Officials say areas of the Iowa Great Lakes are two feet thick, which means the annual University of Okoboji Winter Games are still on.
The Games' organizers say that they do have crews on hand in the event of an accident, and areas where the ice is a little thinner are roped off.
Co-chair Jeremy Morrison acknowledges the risk of an accident is there, but says they're moving forward as normal.

"There's always concerns when you get this many people and there's a lot of people from out of town on the ice," said winter games co-chair Jeremy Morrison. "There's always risk, but hopefully everybody stays safe."

Morrison says he'd like to see more snowmobilers buzzing around the lakes.
But for that, they'd need more snow.
