And before it's even begun, it's over.
"I like to wrestle with a high tempo and try to get things done as soon as I can," senior 195-pounder Christian Brobst said.
In his final season, Heelan 195-pounder Christian Brobst has been a one man wrecking crew, winning 30 of his 32 match by pin-fall. In fact, his entire career can simply be defined as "dominant."
"When he first came in, I could see there was plenty of raw talent there and he's improved every single year." Head Coach Rich Touney said.
Of his 133 career victories, 105 have come by pin.
"When you start talking about 100 plus pins, it's the best I've been around," Touney said.
For Brobst, it's not about the wins or pins. After qualifying for the state tournament last season, the senior says he's had a bad taste in his mouth since falling to the eventual state champ, Keaton Hulett of Creston in the quarterfinals.
"I was ahead in the third period with about a minute to go or so in the third period, I got sloppy, too high and I got turned," Brobst said. "It changed my mood the rest of the tournament."
He went on to finish seventh.
"We want nothing more than go for the young man at the state meet," Touney added. "That would be super fitting for him."
"This year, I'm going to hopefully go back and win it."
