Judge denies Sioux City's request to join this week's gaming hearing


SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- The City of Sioux City will not be participating in an upcoming hearing in the legal battle between Penn National Gaming and Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.

Lawyers for the city of Sioux City filed an emergency request to intervene, and attend the hearing scheduled for Thursday.

According to court documents, Sioux City has been told it cannot participate in an upcoming hearing because their request was too late.

They were given a hearing date on March 7th in which they can state their side in the ongoing legal arguments over the gaming license the I-R-G-C dACnied Penn for the Argosy Casino.
