BREMER COUNTY (KWWL) -
The Iowa State Patrol has released details on the 16-vehicle pile-up that shut down northbound Highway 218 on Sunday during blizzard conditions.
Troopers say the accident happened at around 4:49 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 199.
According to crash reports released by the Iowa State Patrol, five semi-trucks were involved in the accident and several people were injured, including a 1-year-old child.
Those injured include:
Lisa Trees, 39, of Clarksville; Chelsea Capper, 14, of Clarksville; Nancy Johnson, 61, of Clarksville; Miranda Struck, 18, of Schleswig; Samantha Ralls, 31, of Waverly; Katelyn Driscoll, 1, of Waverly; Cara Moran, 28, of Shell Rock; Ronald Jean Thompson, 62, of Collinsville, Ill.; Ulrich Rabatach, 66, of Clarksville; Capri Rabatach, 13, of Waverly; Sienna Riley, 14, of Clarksville;
At least 11 more people walked away without injury.
