Dubuque Senior's Kyle Haber is superstar on the court as well as in the classroom --
Wendell Eimers | Dubuque Senior Head Coach said, "He's got an unbelievable high IQ, and he's been able to take those things and play some excellent basketball for us this year."
To put it in perspective -- Kyle will be playing ball next year at Brown -- the prestigious Ivy League school only accepts 1 out every 10 applicants --
but before heading east -- he's got some big goals to take care of first here in Senior's James Nora Gym -- and soon after down in Des Moines --
"Win the state championship, that's my only goal this year."
The last 2 seasons -- the Rams have inched closer to that goal -- reaching the state tournament -- in Kyle's sophomore year -- they just got nipped in the opening round --
as a junior -- his squad reached the semifinals -- before falling to eventual champion Iowa City West --
This year -- the Rams beat the Trojans by 21 -- snapping their 61 game winning streak -- and still undefeated and ranked number one -- their the favorite to win the first basketball state title in school history --
"This team is hungry, they want to achieve unbelievable things for Senior High School", Haber said.
and Kyle Haber is ready to lead the way --
at about 20 points a game -- he's leading this team offensively -- but more impressive is the fact that led the Rams in steals in 4 straight seasons --
Kyle Haber said, "I like playing defense. If you get steals it leads to more buckets, more offensive opportunities for guys to score."
and that's what they've done -- as a team -- Dubuque Senior has shot better than 50 percent from the field -- and they hope that will have them hosting a trophy in Des Moines come March --
