Twenty-two teachers and staff at Bishop Heelan are recognized

Twenty-two teachers and staff were recognized Friday at an annual appreciation luncheon.

Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools President Jim Tschann thanked the teachers and staff for their dedication.

Two teachers in particular are being honored for 45 years at Heelan.

Brendan Burchard who teaches theology and Bill Thayer who teaches business education.

"I hope that I have taught some people some things but to me it's the relationships.  I have made more relationships than you could imagine and many of them are still there," said Brendan Burchard, Bishop Heelan teacher.

"If you can find a job that you love, you will be happy for 45 years," said Bill Thayer, Bishop Heelan teacher.

Bill Thayer will be retiring and Brendan Burchard doesn't plan on retiring any time soon.
