SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV)- If you forgot to buy your groceries until the day of the big game, you weren't alone.
Hy-Vee on Hamilton Boulevard in Sioux City was packed with last minute shoppers.
While it seemed shoppers forgot to buy everything from chips and salsa to drinks and desserts, everyone could certainly agree on one thing: putting off the grocery shopping made for a very busy afternoon and a very crowded store.
"Yeah, I made the mistake. Coming in here I was thinking I should have come on Friday because there was nowhere to park," Beti Little George of Sioux City said.
"When I got here, everybody was buying things like dip and chips and sandwiches for today so I know they're stocking up for the Super Bowl," Esther Carter of Sioux City said.
Hy-Vee officials said they were slammed with business starting early in the morning, and there were hardly any lulls in the Super Bowl shopping.
