AMES, Iowa (KTIV) -
Head Coach Fred Hoiberg said don't shoot it, but sophomore forward George Niang did, dropping in three of his game high 27 points as 16th ranked Iowa State exacted some revenge against 23rd ranked Oklahoma 81-75 on Saturday.
The victory was Iowa State's fifth win over a top 25 team this year.
The win also gives the Cyclones a little bit of momentum as they prepare for their fourth straight Top 25 foe, when they hit the road to face 8th ranked Oklahoma State on Monday.
The Cyclones have lost 18-straight in Stillwater, dating all the way back to 1988.
"It was good," Melvin Ejim said of the win. "But now we have to turn our attention to Oklahoma State. The Big 12 is a grind, it's the best conference right now and every game is no joke. We have to keep going. We have to be excited about this win, but we have to look at Okie State."
The Cyclones and Cowboys tip off at 8. The game can be seen on ESPN.
