SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) -

The 5th ranked Dordt men, continued to dominate the hardwood, winning it's seventh straight game, 78-74 over 13th ranked Hastings on Saturday, improving to 3-1 against Top 25 teams this season.

The Defenders now have a two game lead in the conference with just five remaining.

The final stretch of the season could be the squads toughest, with four of the five opponents in the top half of the conference.

It's a pivotal stretch for the Defenders as they prepare for a postseason run.

"It's a big win now that you've hit the month of February," Head Coach Ross Douma said.  "You try not to look at the standings at this point in time, but as soon as you hit February, you understand the magnitude of these games. We knew we were coming into a tough environment. They're just and outstanding team, Hastings is, and we feel fortunate to get out of here with a win."

Dordt hosts Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday.
