New Explorers pitcher Matt Milke pitched two years at Brigham Young University.
The Sioux City Explorers have announced the signing of RHP Matt
Milke and RHP Alex Pagano. Both players will be classified
as rookies, as per league rules, each American Association team must
carry a minimum of four rookies on the roster if playing with the
maximum in-season roster of 22 players. With their signings, Sioux
City currently has five pitchers and four position players under
contract for the 2014 season.
Milke, a native of Chula Vista, CA, was a member of the
University of Brigham Young baseball team for two years. In his
senior season, the right-hander led all BYU relief pitchers with 27
appearances out of the bullpen, while accumulating a 2.15 earned run
average to go along with 4 saves and 38 strikeouts to 22 walks in
46.0 innings of work. Pagano, a 6’2” right-hander from
Sebastian, FL, will also be making his professional debut this season
in Sioux City after being seen in a workout this past weekend in

The X’s 2014 Home Opener will be Saturday, May 17th
versus the Sioux Falls Canaries in a 7:05pm contest. The X’s are

games on the 2014 schedule.
