SIOUX CITY, (KTIV) - The libraries in Sioux City are under review as a part of budget process.
The library's board is saying it's time to either cut hours, or cut a whole branch.
At the city council's budget review, library representatives presented budget cuts surrounding two options, either cutting back on the hours of operation, or completely eliminating the smallest branch.
The Perry Creek branch on Sioux City's west side is up for the elimination.
Library officials say the options aren't ideal, but they're doing what they can to help with budget cuts.
"We'll wait to hear what the council expects from the library as they try to put the whole budget together, and then we'll just evaluate the options at that point," Betsy Thompson, Library Director.
No decisions are final yet.
Whether or not the branch will close permanently will be decided as the budget is finalized in March.
