Norfolk School Board: one open seat with two names on the ballot
NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
With two weeks to go before the filing deadline for the May primary in Nebraska, a contested race has emerged for a seat on a Siouxland School Board.
County election officials said current Norfolk School Board President and District Two Representative, Bruce Mitchell, has filed for re-election. Mitchell was appointed to the board in 2008 after his predecessor, Paul Cazabon, retired.
Mitchell won't be alone in the upcoming primary race. Current CEO of the Norfolk Area Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, Linnea Gettman, has filed to run as a challenger. Gettman was among those who also applied for the open spot on the board when Mitchell was appointed in 2008.
Any other potential challengers in this or any of the other races on the ballot have until March 3rd to file to run.
