Bids announced for work to move mental health services out of Woodbury County courthouse

Woodbury County's social services department is ready to make a move to their location at Tri-View Avenue.

To get the process moving, the project manager went before the county's board of supervisors to read bids aloud from several contractors in Sioux City and South Sioux City. Bids ranged from $228,000 to about $300,000.

Sioux City's Global Engineering had the lowest bid. "This is a government funded project, so we are by law, we have to take the lowest responsible bidder, so I'll check over the bond and make sure that is all good, and I'll talk to the contractor to make sure they're good with their bid," Mike Neswick said.

Once these steps are taken, Neswick says he will go to the board for final approval next week. Then they will start work on the Tri-View building as soon as possible.
