An early morning fire keeps Sioux City fire crews busy for several hours

Officials say an unattended candle placed too close to combustibles is to blame for a Sioux City apartment fire early Wednesday morning.

The call came in around 2:15 a.m. at 1954 and a half Riverside Boulevard.

Officials say the apartment is connected to two businesses through an attic.

One person lives in the apartment, but was not home at the time.

Officials say the fire started in a bedroom.

The apartment has been red-tagged.
